Counselling . Psychotherapy . Training . Consultancy
As well as providing counselling face to face at my office, I also provide online counselling and psychotherapy for people who are unable to meet in person.
People access online therapy for a number of reasons, most particularly it may be the only opportunity they have at that moment to access any support. I work with many English speaking ex-pats from around the world who may be living within a community where it feels like everyone knows everyone and the chance to speak with a trained and qualified therapist in English and in confidence might be very slim. Even if there is an English speaking therapist, they may not wish to see them. Online therapy opens up your access to the world (literally) of therapists with varying specialisms, therapeutic approaches (modalities) and choice. I am a member at the International Society for Mental Health Online (ISMHO) as well I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
Also working online, even from within the UK provides the opportunity for others who may not have services close to them or for other reasons that may make accessing services difficult.
I offer a free 30-minute introductory session for us to meet online to discuss the issues or concerns you have, your aims of counselling and to decide whether or not we would be able to work well together. You are under no obligation to continue if you decide it is not for you.
If we do decide to work together, my fees are on a sliding scale of £45 - £65 for a 50-minute session depending on your view of your means to pay.
I can also offer a limited number of concessions to students or unwaged at £35 per session.
For areas of specialism I work in, knowledge and experience please click here. Having been an ex-pat myself living in France for over 8 years, I understand many of the issues facing someone in that position, loneliness, depression and a confusion around our identity in relation to other cultures and customs. I also understand the strain it can put on relationships either at home or abroad.
The fee is payable before, within 4 days of the session by bank transfer (UK only) or by credit or debit card. Some clients prefer to pay for an agreed block of sessions in advance. International and UK payments can also be made on-line by credit or debit-card please contact me for details about this.
I am partnered with Barclays Bank and Barclaycard and I can accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and JCB so you can be assured your transaction is safe and secure.
When we meet online, if we choose to work together, we will discuss methods of payment suitable to your circumstances.
I work via VSee, you will need to have an account with them (accounts are free and available here VSee.com). VSee is similar to Skype but is a more secure and private medium as well transmits video at rates as low as 50 kbit/s and is capable of real-time video communication over 3G cellular networks, this means the connection through VSee is often clearer with fewer disruptions and can work through a smartphone device.
I also recommend that you have a headset which enables more clarity and privacy during our work. I work with a headset and this ensures our conversation in no way could be overheard. We can explore this when we first meet online.
